Welcome to Firrhill High School

“Providing learning opportunities of the highest quality.”

I would like to welcome you to the Firrhill High School web-site.

Here you will find information on our school aims and values, our educational provision in its widest sense and our many achievements.

In common with schools across the country we are working to manage the impact of coronavirus. We are carefully following the relevant guidance from the Scottish Government and the Local Authority to make sure the building and all the pupils and staff are safe as we resume our core purposes of learning and teaching.

As we move through this long and busy first term of the 20-21 school year there will be many things that are different and that we will all have to get used to. Crucially, every member of the school community – staff, pupils and parents – has a role to play in ensuring that we keep everyone as safe as possible and in creating the right conditions for excellent learning and teaching.

Although some aspects of everyday school life will look and feel different from normal our goal of excellence for all, excellence by all has not changed and we continue to strive towards that goal in all that we do. That familiar ambition should help all of us settle back into our new routines as quickly as possible.

We will continue to provide information to pupils and parents through direct updates and also, as appropriate, through the school website.

The school email address is admin@firrhill.edin.sch.uk

Best Wishes

Graham Hamilton – Headteacher
