There are no longer any ‘appeals’ against SQA examination results that are published in August. There is a system to allow checks to be made in cases where the school feels that there may have been an error in the marking of the paper or in the totalling of the marks.
This system is called the Post Results Service and you can read more about it on the SQA website at https://www.sqa.org.uk/sqa/79048.html .
Below you can find links to the timeline for schools in considering possible PRS requests and also to the the City of Edinburgh Advice Sheet which gives more detail on the system including the specific criteria used to determine whether a PRS request may be appropriate and for when it is not. These criteria are used city-wide.
