We have been working with Sonia Grant from MIndset UK to develop Growth Mindsets across the school. The MIndset UK framework provides tools and strategies for schools, sport and business to help us be more positive about our abilities and what we can achieve.

As a working group in the school we have been trialling methods of relaxation and Mindfulness techniques. Pupils and staff have learned about how the brain functions and how we can best support learning through being receptive to how we are feeling and the barriers to learning that our feelings and emotions can sometimes create.

 

Headspace is a great resource for children and adults to support meditation, relaxation and ways to promote good mental health. This is really important, especially for those pupils sitting exams, who may find themselves more stressed and tired than normal. There is a free app for Apple and Android that the staff have enjoyed using, as well as the website.
