A welcome from the Parent Council
On behalf of the Firrhill Parent Council, welcome to the Firrhill High School Parent Community zone; we are a team of parents and carers who provide support to the school. The Firrhill Parent Council’s aims are to:
- support the school in its work with pupils
- represent the views of parents and carers to the school, the education authority and other relevant bodies
- promote positive engagement between the school, parents, pupils and the community
In addition to the Parent Council we run a number of working groups; they work on a variety of topics such as Communications, Health & Wellbeing and Business & Enterprise which link to our children’s education. We also maintain a PTA that co-ordinates our fund raising activity.
Participating in the Parent Council or one of the Working Groups is a great way to get involved in the school and make your views heard. There’s more information on the Parent Council and the working groups in this section of the school website. The site aims to provide a central location where Firrhill parents and carers can access information on what we do in the Parent Council and our various Working Groups, including the PTA. You can also find more information here on meeting dates, our constitution and our structure.
We’re all parents or carers of children at Firrhill, we take part in Parent Council activities on a voluntary basis and we’re always happy for more parents and carers to become involved. To get in touch, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or come along to one of our meetings – we’d be delighted to see you there.
