27 NovIeuan James – Shortlisted for BBC Young Sports Personality
Congratulations to Ieuan James who has been shortlisted with nine others for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year 2017. This award will be presented at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards on 17th December. The ten shortlisted athletes will be reduced to three on Blue Peter on Thursday 7th December.
Ieuan left Firrhill in June and is currently studying maths at Nottingham University. He had an incredibly successful 2017 winning the European Juniors in Serbia and the World Juniors in Romania for the K1 200m sprint in kayaking. He was also recently awarded the Sir Peter Heatly trophy for Scottish Young Athlete of the Year and is also one of three shortlisted for the Sunday Mail Young Sportsperson of the Year, this award is decided on 7th December. We are very proud of Ieuan’s success and are keeping our fingers crossed for him on the 7th December!
